For Academics
A new field site for your research.
We are not here to borrow your lectures. The academy opens two campuses and its cohorts, Japanese and international, as a research field, and is built so that the teaching turns into publishable work.
Research Value
What you gain here as a researcher.
A research field
Two campuses, Oiso for teaching and Minami-Aoyama for clinical work, plus cohorts from Japan and abroad. Field sites for studies of educational interventions, XR learning outcomes and oral-systemic care in practice.
Data and publications
Co-analysis rights over pilot educational data and participant evaluations. Findings go to peer-reviewed journals, conferences and the annual forum. Authorship follows ICMJE criteria.
Research and teaching infrastructure
XR and 3D simulation rooms, teaching-material and case libraries, and international case conferences, usable for both teaching and research.
International connections
Working relationships with universities and hospitals in Asia and the Middle East, forum speaking, and hosting arrangements that extend your lab's reach.
Participation Roles
Four roles. You choose the granularity.
Professors & Academic Advisors
Supporting the academy's academic foundation through program design, research supervision, and academic committee participation.
Clinical Instructors
Providing practice-based education grounded in clinical experience, directly mentoring the next generation.
International Visiting Professors
Invited from universities and research institutions abroad to bring international perspectives to education and research.
Academic Committee Members
Participating in program quality assurance and research policy formulation.
Founding Faculty Charter
What we promise. What we ask.
Everything we offer faculty — and everything we expect — is put in writing before appointment. No vague invitations.
What the Academy promises
- Academic independence under COI management — commercial interference in content and assessment is institutionally blocked
- Co-design rights over the initial curriculum, with permanent founding-faculty credit
- Co-authorship credit on teaching materials and codified secondary-use rules
- Educational and research access to the XR / simulation environment
- Speaking opportunities at the international forum and overseas cohorts
- Transparent, contract-specified compensation standards
What we ask of faculty
- Ownership of learning outcomes in your area
- Maintaining and updating evidence-based content
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest and recusal from affected decisions
- Acceptance of participant evaluations and peer review
- Pre-agreed minimum annual commitment (teaching and committee work)
Practical Design
Fully compatible with your university position.
For most professors the barrier is not motivation — it is concurrent-employment rules and time. Our participation design starts there.
Contract granularity matched to your rules
Adjunct lecturer, academic advisor, one-off supervision, or lectures. Choose the form that fits your university's concurrent-employment rules; we check compatibility together before appointment.
From about two hours a month
Design, supervision and review are done remotely. Annual commitment is agreed in writing beforehand, with room for renegotiation.
Location-independent
Online participation is part of the standard design. On-site presence is needed only for hands-on teaching and select reviews.
Your name appears only with consent
Exploratory dialogue stays private. Even after appointment you may choose a joint announcement with other founding faculty, so no one's name appears alone.
Reputation safeguards
Academic and commercial decisions are kept separate, the sponsor no-go list is public, and your contract includes exit rights if governance breaks down.
Freedom to step down
You may resign at any time. Procedures and handover (only completing your current cohort) are specified in the contract.
International Visiting Faculty
For professors abroad: hosting is our job.
Cross-border logistics are on us. Dialogue and participation entirely in English are welcome.
Official invitation & documents
We issue formal invitation letters (in English) and supporting documents for your institution and visa procedures.
Residential hosting
Residential stays at the Oiso Campus are being designed — from short teaching visits to mid-term sabbatical stays, arranged around your goals.
Language support
Interpretation and translation for lectures, committees, and joint research are arranged by our staff. English-only participation is fully possible.
Joint-research hosting
A vehicle for collaborative research with access to Japanese clinical and educational data — extensible to inter-institutional agreements with your university.

The professors we hope to talk with.
We are looking for people with questions, not titles.

Faculty FAQ
Questions professors ask us
Will this conflict with my university's concurrent-employment rules?
We offer several contract forms (adjunct, advisor, one-off supervision) matched to your university's approval criteria, and we check compatibility together before appointment.
How much time is required?
From roughly two hours a month depending on the role. Annual commitment is agreed in writing beforehand and can be adjusted around your academic calendar.
Who owns teaching materials and research outputs?
Materials carry co-authorship credit with codified secondary-use terms. Research authorship follows ICMJE criteria and academic convention takes precedence.
Is English required?
No. Interpretation and translation are provided for international programs. If you wish to present in English, we will prioritize those opportunities for you.
Can I participate from outside Tokyo or from abroad?
Yes. Design, supervision, review, and committees are remote-first; on-site hands-on teaching dates are agreed in advance.
Can I step down mid-way?
Yes. Exit rights and procedures are specified in the contract — we only ask consideration for completing your current cohort.
Start with a 30-minute dialogue.
No sales pitch. A frank conversation to see whether your research interests and this project overlap. Say so if you would like the exchange kept confidential.
The faculty roster will be published here as appointments are confirmed with each member's consent. No names appear before consent.
